AMD MI300 is AMD's family of data-center AI accelerators built on the CDNA3 architecture, announced in 2023. The flagship MI300X ships with 192GB of HBM3 — substantially more memory than the H100 — which is a natural draw for teams trying to serve very large models from a single chip. Major orders from Microsoft, Meta and OpenAI established MI300 as one of the first credible real-world alternatives to NVIDIA's near-monopoly. The ROCm ecosystem still trails CUDA in maturity, but vLLM and PyTorch support have advanced rapidly over the past year.
